C. Rob

Name: Chris Robinson aka C. Rob

Position: On hill snowboard supervisor and staff trainer

Time at Stowe: 4 years

C. Rob came to Vermont in 2008, from Jackson Hole. The move was to be closer to family on the east coast and for him it was as simple as moving from the best of the west to the best of the east. He has been snowboarding for 21 years and even tele skiing for ten. While working at Stowe he loves snowboarding and meeting new people every day.

In his spare time in the winter and during the summers C. Rob is the CEO of Faded Orange, a Vermont based company celebrating mountain town culture. They celebrate the freedom of athletic expression, art, music, while sharing the stoke that is a mountain town culture and have T-Shirts, hats and other accessories. Faded Orange sponsors local and professional athletes as well as donates money, time and products to local events and charities. What makes Faded unique is that they are focusing on being as local and made in the USA as possible. The trucker hat logos are made in New York, the embroidery and screen printing are done in Vermont, all the beanies are made in the USA, and the knit hats are all hand knit in the USA from Eco ways yarn.

When C. Rob is not snowboarding or running Faded Orange you might find him with his wife and two kids or fly fishing, golfing, kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, skateboarding or even hip hop dancing.

Keep your eyes peeled for C. Rob and Faded Orange around Stowe.

Phil Gwinn

Name: Phil Gwinn

Position: Lift Operator

Time at Stowe: 9 years

Phil first came to Stowe in 2002 when his parents moved here from Waterbury. He began for parking and then became a lift operator. He came to work here for the opportunity to ski on his days off, because for Phil shredding the ‘gnar is the best part of this job. Phil like many Vermonters began skiing at 3 years old.

When he is not working or skiing Phil is sleeping, cooking or out with friends. Last winter he moved to Santiago to teach English, but is glad to be back for another winter here in Stowe!
